The act describes main themes of discrimination. Firstly it is direct discrimination. The situation has a place when individuals treat another person unfairly according to the protected characteristics listed above. Secondly, indirect discrimination. The situation occurs when a policy favor individual versus another and therefore the unfair disadvantage or advantage has a place. Finally, we have an issue of classic harassment. It have place when an individual feels intimidated humiliated or offended by undesired treatment from another person. Harassment has a wide form and may have a place in a form of jokes, physical gestures or maybe proceeded by language in spoken or written form. If any not included here behavior leads to feeling uncomfortable or is offensive then it is harassment. Victimization is a situation when the person is discriminated against because of a submitted complaint. In addition discrimination by association occurred when one person is discriminated against because of their association with a person who has protected characteristics. Discrimination by perception is a situation when an individual is treated not appropriately by someone who believe that have protected characteristic but the fact is that do not have it. In general, people may experience discrimination and be marginalized because of others’ attitudes and perceptions toward them. The best example to illustrate the issue is the act of terror. If public media display the religion of terrorists who commit crimes, some people may stigmatize all of the religions because of the act of one singular man. On the other hand situation may be investigated from point of one man or group of people.
